The Equality Company of the Year in Ostrobothnia 2025

The world is changing and our efforts to promote diversity, equality and equity is more important than ever. Research shows that diverse workplaces are more creative, innovative and productive - especially if the members of the management team and board are also from different genders and backgrounds.

As competition for skilled labour intensifies, it is good to ensure that companies themselves do not exclude potential employees through their own activities. What kind of images does our company create in the minds of potential jobseekers? What is our working culture like - does everyone feel part of the work community? Do we invite someone with a foreign sounding name for an interview? The more male- or female-dominated the sector, the more self-critical scrutiny is often required from employers.

The Equality Company of the Year in Ostrobothnia award will be presented in the summer of 2025 to highlight and reward companies that are actively working towards a more equal and diverse working life. The award will be given to a company that values and fosters equality and equal opportunities and where diversity in the workplace is seen as a genuine asset.

Anyone can nominate the Equality Company of the Year in Ostrobothnia. Companies that provide good examples of equal opportunities and/or diversity in working life are encouraged to be nominated. You can nominate your own company, your employer or your partner, for example. The organisers of the competition will jointly select the winner.

The campaign is running on Facebook @obotnia and LinkedIn @Regional Council of Ostrobothnia. Campaign content will also be shared on the Facebook and LinkedIn pages of the participating organisations.
