The major international energy sector event, Vaasa EnergyWeek (20–24 March 2017) is almost here again and now larger than ever, with 10 different focal events. New events for the week include the Energy Business Forum, which focuses on international investments within the energy sector and is organised by Technology Centre Merinova, and the Cyber Security & Digitalization seminar organised by the Jyväskylä Regional Development Company Jykes and Merinova.
“The audience requested an event centring on cyber security and digitalization, and we are happy that Merinova and their partners were able to address this topical subject,” says Hanna Alavillamo, the Communications & Brand Manager of VASEK and EnergyVaasa.
“Last year, this subject was covered more briefly outside the regular EnergyWeek, but this year it will be an all-day seminar because of its significance in the field. Also, the EnergyLaw event has been renamed and is now known as Energy Regulation,” Alavillamo points out.
Alavillamo is in charge of coordinating all the events of the EnergyWeek:
“Right now, the various people and parties involved in organising each themed event are finalising their programmes and confirming the speakers. The programmes will be posted on the EnergyWeek website as they are confirmed and at the beginning of the year we will be getting the the magazine containing the programme off the press. Also, registration has just begun, so I recommend that you enrol as soon as possible and book your accommodation in good time too,” Alavillamo says.
“And, of course, you can get all the fresh news about the EnergyWeek by ordering our newsletter. The order form can be found on our website,” she advises.
EnergyWeek gives the entire Vaasa region a great deal of visibility and, apart from the event itself, the organisers hope that the participants will remember all that it has to offer long after their return home, including the energy technology cluster, which is the most significant of its kind in the Nordic countries.
“In addition to the actual seminars and exhibitions, participants will be able to enjoy various evening entertainment and company visits. This not only gives us the opportunity to exhibit the region’s companies and their know-how, but also allows us to show what other attractions the region has to offer.”
EnergyWeek’s main partners are Wärtsilä, ABB, VEO and Wapice. Other sponsors include EPV, Citec, Westenergy and Arcteq.
“It’s not too late to become a sponsor and gain great visibility for your company,” says Alavillamo. “In 2016, EnergyWeek attracted almost 4,000 visitors to Vaasa. Of course, with all the new themed events, we expect attendance to grow this year.”
